Guided step by step video, combined with open ended thinking to create artworks unique to the artist
Experiments in learning -
Color mixing, drawing, painting, using new materials, or supplies you have in new ways. I love making art and I can't wait to share it with you.
Hello Artists,
I am so glad you are here. My name is Valerie Lamb-Steece, I am an artist and a teacher. I have been interested in making and creating things for as long as I can remember. I’ve had many teachers who have shared what they know with me on my way and now I'm super excited to share what I know with you, on your path to becoming an artist.
Things to remember-
Practice. I recently learned to play the guitar and I had never done this before - I learned that it was ok to be really new to something and not very good - at first and maybe for a long while. If you put in the practice day by day you will improve. And that's pretty cool!
All art is good art- just make the art that you like, take your time, and have fun!
Seek out what you are interested in and learn about it-draw it, get library books about it (the librarians are your friends, they love to help) So say I’m drawing a roller skater and you like skateboarding take my idea and use your own images
Can’t find the right picture? Have someone take your picture in the pose you want and then make up the background you want!
There are so many interesting types of art, music and movement, try new things and see what makes you smile, that’s the goal- Joy!
